GGP has been implementing small project refers to "Yak wool" under its component to increase herders' alternative income since 2005.

As a continuation of preceding activities, yak wool trade fair was organized in Tsetserleg soum of Arkhangai aimag on 7 June, 2007, with the purpose of connecting herders with manufacturers.

The trade fair was opened with the speech by Mr. Tsedendamba, coordinator of IFAD funded "Rural Poverty Reduction" project branch, in Arkhangai aimag. Afterwards, "Green Gold" Programme coordinator Dr. PhD. D.Dorligsuren displayed a presentation on current implementation of yak wool project and its importance.

The trade fair has gathered different stakeholders including herders who supply with inputs and manufacturers who process yak wool and produce outputs as well as companies who sell products at the market and deliver to the end-users. The trade fair was special with the largest extent of wool sold and the highest price offered for wool than ever before.

At the end of the fair people who performed well in the project activity were rewarded and encouraged.
